QUALITIES OF GOOD CAPTAIN

SKILL AND EXPERIENCE
A very high degree is needed to ensure that the aircraft is operated to its maximum capability. Professional standard is beyond criticism. By experience, foresight and careful planning captain can anticipate difficult situations deal with them successfully and appreciate any limitations there may be in his aircraft, equipment and crew.

MORALE CHARACTERS

PERSONALITY Distinction of personal character. Integrity must be unquestionable and beyond reproach. Exemplary, patience, cheerful and adjust his personality to achieve complete harmony with his crew.

TENACITY mental stamina-ability to think clearly and act decisively and quickly in emergency.Determination, desire and ability to see difficult matter through a successful conclusion in spite of apparently overwhelming odd.

LOYALTY Must be loyal to his superiors and subordinate alike, and must be manifestly sincere.

SENSE OF RESPONSIBILITY Each member must be made aware the importance of his own task. Captain should take detail interest in the individual task to offer advice, valid criticism and most importantly he should know where information is available from each one.

COURAGE Two kinds MENTAL/MORAL and PHYSICAL. Courage is an effort of will to overcome fear. Ability to stick to the job to the end despite injury, privation and approaching death. Moral courage is reflected in the attitude of mind required to make JUST but unpopular decisions.
